AD 33 Original Plays

 

Since our first theatrical show performed in 2010 AD 33 Productions has debuted eight original stage productions written by Joshua Rexford ranging from one-act plays to full-length musicals. Over the years many of them have been re-written and re-produced for a total of nineteen productions.

Wrenchwood B.C.: When the demons Arrogance, Greed, and Excess get Joseph, son of Jacob, shipped off to Egypt as a slave, they think their assignment is in the bag. But as Joseph continues to rely on and be used by God the trio begins to realize what they’re truly up against: God’s plan. Inspired by the insights of C. S. Lewis and the deep faith of Joseph, Wrenchwood B.C. is a family-friendly show that takes a comedic yet profound look at this account… from the other side.

Cafe A La Closed: When medical student, Allison Fergus, inherits her uncle’s café everything seems straight forward, sell it and move ahead with her plans. But an unpaid mortgage and a lifetime of memories make her decisions far more complicated. Working against the clock and the machinations of a sleazy banker Allison, her best friend, and her uncle’s loyal employee try to save the restaurant, one wacky customer at a time.

Thanksgiving Carol: In a fowl twist on this classic tale actor Ebenezer Spurge is visited by the ghost of his turkey sandwich, three nights before Thanksgiving. Having been warned of the impending consequences of his selfish heart Ebenezer must examine his past, present, and future in the light of true thankfulness before it's too late.

PiraTessa: Our story starts when the rival pirate crews of the Jaded Maiden (all female) and the Flying Dutchpig (all male) end up shipwrecked on opposite sides of the same Caribbean island. Initially unaware of each other’s presence, things get complicated when Tessa, cabin girl on the Jaded Maiden, accidentally meets and begins to fall for Richard from the Dutchpig. Full to the brim with exciting songs and larger-than-life characters this salty yarn explores that timeless topic, true love.
